Horimatsu Bunshin is an Auckland-based tattooist that is highly praised for his traditional Japanese body art creations. He is from Osaka, Japan and has travelled to many countries in pursuit of his art practice. The NZ-based artist uses traditional tebori techniques and tools in creating his masterpieces. He is one of the few tebori-trained artists in New Zealand and the one and only professional artist in the Auckland region. Bernard Kwok – Sunset Tattoo
Bernard Kwok is originally from Hong Kong and relocated to New Zealand when he was a teenager. The tattoo artist underwent training under the mentorship of Mike Wilson, who is a well-loved figure in the international tattooing community having trained many popular artists. He returned to Hong Kong and for four years learned and mastered the place’s traditional body arts. Today, he is based in the Auckland community of New Zealand working for Sunset Tattoo. Zak Penny – Auckland Tattoo Studio
Zak Penny has practised for years in Victoria and New South Wales before relocating to New Zealand in 2020. That same year, the tattooist became part of the Auckland Tattoo Studio family.
