“I chose a beautiful day for my first visit to this wonderful nature reserve not far from the centre of Wellington. There were plenty of visitors but also plenty of room for everyone. There is birdsong everywhere, even on the walk from the bus stop. You can take gentle, easy paths or slightly more ambitious ones or go for a full hike. I started with a delightful ride on the electric boat. There are informative signs all over the place. I loved it.” –David Lumsden
