Dr Laird Cameron – Canopy Cancer Care Tauranga
Laird Cameron has a BSC degree major in biochemistry which he later followed with a medicine and surgery degree from the Otago Medical School. He was trained in general medicine and oncology in Wellington. For two years, he underwent fellowship training at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, Australia. The focus of the training was head, neck, and lung malignancies and the effects of targetted therapy and immunotherapy in its effective management. The medical oncologist is also a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He is part of the medical oncology team at Canopy Cancer Care Tauranga in the BOP region of New Zealand.

Dr Peter (Chee Chong) Fong – Canopy Cancer Care Tauranga
Peter (Chee Chong) Fong is a medical oncologist with specializations in the areas of gynaecological, prostate, and urological malignancies. He is a graduate of the University of Queensland Medical School located in Australia and was trained in both New Zealand and Australian hospital settings. During his clinical research fellowship training, he went to the Royal Marsden Hospital in London from 2004 until 2008. He was trained under the prostate and gynaecology cancer drug unit and also spent 2 years working on translational research at the Institute of Cancer Research of the University of London. Dr Richard North – Canopy Cancer Care Tauranga
Richard North specializes in lung and gastrointestinal malignancies with melanoma together with general medical oncology. His basic training was held in Auckland and Waikato and soon commenced with a fellowship training in Newcastle, Australia. Newcastle is known for its impressive cancer facilities including the Newcastle Melanoma Unit and the ANZ Breast Cancer Trials Unit. In 2008 he returned to Tauranga, New Zealand to help promote and improve the BOP community’s health. He pioneered phase 3 multinational trials focused on oncology and was formerly part of the Cancer Control New Zealand team. At present, he sits as the head of the Medical Oncology Working Group which is under the Ministry of Health. Richard is also affiliated with Canopy Cancer Care Tauranga functioning as one of its medical oncologists.
