“A good walk but not wheelchair friendly. You need a physical fit to get to the top. Certain parts of the track are slippery and uneven. View from the top is great you can see some old military facilities.” –Hao Chang

“Great place to stretch your legs. Much improved over the past few years. Good place for a run too. Go out along the waterfront, under the bridge up to Point Erin, then down the stairs and then back along the sheltered path along the high way (which with the screening and landscaping/greenery is way nicer than you’d believe being so near to the high way) and then back to the viaduct via Jacob’s ladder.” –Adrian Fonseca

A lovely group of native birds welcomes hikers such as the NZ pigeon, silvereye, fantail, and grey warbler. Meanwhile, the muddy areas are inhabited by banded rails, oystercatchers and kingfishers.
