Alasdair Patrick graduated with a medicine and surgery degree before commencing with basic training in gastroenterology. This was eventually followed by advanced training in gastroenterology held in Auckland-based institutions. He completed his fellowship training and passed the written examination which led to his membership to the Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians later on. Anurag Sekra is originally from India and was educated at Almaty, Kazakhstan where he earned both his medicine and surgery degrees. Ashok Raj studied at Auckland Medical School and graduated with a medical and surgery degree in 2003. He pursued fellowship training in hepatology after his basic and advanced training. The fellowship was held at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. Ashok proceeded with a PhD at the University of Queensland focused on the clinical correlation of small intestinal permeability and gut microbiota to liver conditions. Dagmar Hendel pursued post-graduate study after earning her medicine and surgery degrees. The post-graduate study gave way to her being awarded a membership to the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom in 1992.
