Cassels & Sons Brewing’s success was a result of the owner’s family’s hard work and passion for whole grain brewing. The idea of whole-grain brewing was discovered by the family in the 1980s and it then went to several tasting sessions and researches before it was finally offered to the Christchurch public in September 2009. Their equipment and elements used in brewing were all by them including a wood-fired kettle. The first hoppy pilsner brew of the family paved the way to their current reputation of serving the best local craft beers.
