CoCA - Centre of Contemporary Art Toi Moroki

CoCA – Centre of Contemporary Art Toi Moroki was launched in 1880 going by the name of Canterbury Society for the Arts of CSA. The art gallery suffered heavily from the 2011 earthquake that prompted it to be closed for five years for its renovation and re-strengthening. The contemporary art centre in Christchurch, New Zealand was re-launched in February 2016 and is still managed by the Canterbury Society of Arts Charitable Trust. It is a lovely space where people can appreciate and witness history and art merge beautifully on impressive art mediums. Their scheduled exhibitions are Hannah Watkinson’s The Near Future, The Mist and The Horizon, Mark Work, and Ella Sutherland’s House Painting I + II.

Form Gallery

Form Gallery has an impressive collection of contemporary art creations in its showroom. The art gallery was the idea of Koji Miyazaki and was opened to the public in 1993 at the Cathedral Square in Christchurch, New Zealand. They have launched numerous art wares at this location that locals and tourists have appreciated and loved. The gallery’s collections were transferred to Koji’s home in Cashmere after the 2011 earthquake and at present, they are permanently situated in the Sydenham area. The Physics Room

The Physics Room

The Physics Room operates on a mission to provide the needed boost to local contemporary artists. By hosting the local artist’s creations, their creations are presented to a wider part of the population. Along with basic information about the art pieces, visitors gain an insight into the artist’s inspiration and influence. The art gallery is managed by a Board of Trustees and was established in 1996. They have beautiful art exhibits on schedule this July namely the Light Enough To Read By and the Heavy Trees, Arms, and Legs.
