Khandallah Park
Khandallah Park officially became a public land domain in 1909. The local park can be found in New Zealand’s capital city and is touted as the country’s oldest reserve. “We went on a cold day in June in the afternoon, and it was incredibly cold here. It is in the shadow of Mt Kaukau (pronounced Cocoa). I’d suggest adding an extra layer and grabbing a hot drink from the Cafe before coming up the hill to keep your hands warm. The playground is fantastic though with swings, a climbing area, a flying fox, and a really cool slide. The playground is right next to a stream. There is a toilet block next to the car park. Trelissick Park
Trelissick Park in Wellington, New Zealand used to be a popular route for Maoris and Europeans who want to visit Porirua from the harbour area. It showcases a rich history in its grounds wherein gunpowder magazines from the 1870s can be seen. The public park got its name from the Cornish Estates of Captain Daniell and now plays a major role in maintaining the ecological balance of the area. Frank Kitts Park
Frank Kitts Park was constructed as a tribute to the city’s then-mayor, Sir Francis Joseph Kitts. It also bears the name of the beloved public official. The public park can be found in the Wellington region of New Zealand and features a tiered amphitheatre-style seating area, playground equipped with swings and lighthouse, and an artwork collection composed of the Sundial by Charles Stone, Albatross sculpture by Tanya Ashken, Water Whirler sculpture by Len Lye, and the Fruits of the Garden sculpture which is a masterpiece of Paul Dibble.

Ideal as a spot to have your lunch away from the office during the week or a nice place for the kids to play during the weekend. Frank Kitts Park also provides space to exercise for the grownups. The playground with its iconic lighthouse slide is rather unique and the views from the top of the slide are worth checking out even for the older kids. Johnsonville Park
Johnsonville Park offers a lovely walking track that eventually leads to a pump and reservoir dam on top. The public park is also a reserve where lush vegetation can be seen. This vegetation plays a crucial role in the ecosystem of Wellington as it is described as the biggest in the region. Its Northern walkway area starts at the Truscott Avenue area slowly proceeding to Mount Kaukau and finally stopping at the Botanic Garden. Meanwhile, the Skyline walkway commences at the Old Coach Road and treads the Mount Kaukau ridge.
